When I go back in my mind in time, sit back and think about all the places I have actually lived in, I can truly say that I enjoyed decorating each space. I cannot and will not look at decorating as a hobby because it is so much more than that. I use decorating as an extension of myself. It gives me a chance to visualize as I bring together and complete a specific style and feel for a space.

Over the years I have developed an excellent eye for colors. I have also mastered the types of patterns, prints, and materials that should be included and used in the process of creating a beautifully styled room. 

I like to take my time and choose which decor or decorative additions can be used as enhancements throughout a space. I feel that it is my job to step back and see if the look I am going for works.

Speaking of decorative additions, one of my favorite go to items are decorative throw pillows. Not only should they be added to your must have decorating list, just in case you didn't know, throw pillows are some of the easiest items to work with.

Step 1: Choose The Best Shape 

The first thing you should do is to find out what shapes you want your throw pillows to have. You need to know this first because the shape of the throw pillows can determine the availability. 

Depending on the shapes you choose, sometimes, certain shapes can only be available in certain sizes, colors, prints, patterns, and materials. This in turn can limit the amount of options you can have.

If you are one who enjoys a variety of different shapes, to make this easier, do a search online and see which places have what you want.

Step 2: Choose The Best Sizes

Sometimes when you try to size something with your eyes only, your eyes can cause you to misjudge what the actual size is. In the case of getting throw pillows, that is not what you want. To ensure that you have the right sizes, measure your throw pillows and write the sizes down. This way you will have this information handy when you are ready to make a purchase.

If you like odd sizes, that can also affect the availability of the throw pillows you want. Depending on the sizes you desire, at times odd sizes can only be available in certain shapes, colors, prints, patterns, and materials.There still can be a nice variety from items you can choose from.

Step 3: Choose Which Material Your Pillows Are Made From

Yes, you need to ask yourself, what materials do I want my pillows to be made from. Some of the most popular materials throw pillows are made from are linen, cotton, satin, silk, velvet, and more. You can choose the materials according to what you are most comfortable with.

You can also use the option of having throw pillows made for a variety of materials. Example: One pillow can be made from cotton. One pillow can be made from satin, and another throw pillow can be made from linen. You can experiment and see which materials you like the most.

Step 4: Choose Which Fabric Patterns You Want

Here is where you can have a lot of fun. You can choose to go with patterned, printed and or solid colored throw pillows. There are no rules that I know of that state that your pillow arrangement has to be of one color or solid colors. You can mix and match solid colors with prints and patterns and still build a very nice color scheme.

Depending on the color scheme you are creating, a mixture of solid colors are nice, but, sometimes it seems like when you mix in patterned and or printed throw pillows, it adds another wonderful layer of Uniqueness.

Step 5: You Can Choose This Option

Not everyone is ready to replace their throw pillows and that's okay because, there's a quick solution for that. One of the best options you can use for your throw pillows is to cover them up with pillow covers. Not only do they come in a variety of sizes, fabrics, prints, patterns, and colors, you can also get pillow covers that come in sets. 

I like the fact that you can place these stylish throw pillows on just about any area like love seats, couches, benches, beds and chairs. You can get creative and place them where you want.

I am a huge fan of the bohemian {boho} and the soft macrame styled pillow covers. I just love the way they look when they are placed on chairs, couches, chairs, and beds. They tend to give me the view of coziness and elegance at the same time. This usually ties in very well with the theme I am going for.

In the past, I have had the opportunity to decorate and use the much larger oversize pillows. I mostly placed them on the floor by my coffee table because I like that look and feel of comfort and relaxation.
